Ever looking for some quick energy but don’t want to eat an entire bar or need to have a snack but don’t want to sit down to eat an entire meal or something to hold you over and power you through a workout? I know I always am. Before I run or workout in the morning I don’t like to eat too much but always want a little bite of something. That is when I decided to start making homemade protein bites. Super easy to throw together, no mess, yummy and healthy.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein bites:
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup peanut or other nut butter
- 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 tbsp ground chia or flax seeds (or both)
- 1/4 cup mini dairy free chocolate chips
Directions: Mix together the dry ingredients then add the banana and mush and mix together. I add the chocolate chips last and mix in. It makes a soft sticky batter that I usually just stick in the fridge as is and grab spoonfuls of when I please 🙂 otherwise you can make into ball, coat in chia seeds, flax seeds, shredded coconut or whatever you want and freeze! They are good either way.
